No more vacations

We had a great Easter weekend. We went up north to visit Eldon's family. The weather was not perfect but not miserable and we had a good time. On Thursday I had a Simply Fun party at my sweet sister in law Holly's house which was a lot of fun and then on Friday we went up and visited James, Liz and Greyson in Logan which was so relaxing. We just hung out and played games and visited and Greyson had a blast playing with Isaac and Owen. Then on Saturday we colored Easter eggs, went to the Uintah Easter egg hunt where I took a picture of the boys with the Easter bunny, had a dutch oven lunch and had another easter egg hunt at Grandma's house. (Which unfortunately the babies slept through). We had another mini hunt for them later on. That evening we played games and hung out and visited. On Sunday we made it to Sacrament meeting but I'm sad to say I never did get a picture of us in our Sunday best. We had a nice Easter dinner and watched a couple of Easter movies, a living scriptures one for the kids and Finding Faith in Christ for the adults. Then we just once again visited and played some of my great games. ;) We had such a nice visit that we didn't leave until Tuesday afternoon and then made it home that evening. So maybe you're wondering why the title of this post is no more vacations? Well, we cannot travel without at least some of us getting sick. Andrew, Isaac and Owen are now all sick with what seems like a cold and the stomach flu. So I've been working on laundry from our trip and now a ton of throw up laundry as well. Sound delightful? Not really. I hope they get better soon because I'm almost out of laundry soap. ;) Here are some pictures from our weekend, hope you enjoy.

My little Angels

I love my babies! I really really really do. But they have been so whiny lately. (I have no idea if I spelled that right) Anyway, I'm wondering if they have more teeth coming in or something because all they do is just whine and whine until Mommy picks them up and then half the time they keep whining. They are so stinkin' cute I can't stand it but I just wish they wouldn't need Mommy so much. Although I know that it will seem like tomorrow when I would give anything to have them back at this clingy loving mommy stage. At least my older boys are pretty snuggly still, we're a pretty snuggly family. I love that this blog is just total rambling.....that's what makes it fun, right? Anyhoo, it is so fun seeing how their different personalities are turning out. And I also think that they are not going to look very much alike at all. So, Iz is a little more serious but it is so worth it when I get his little smile out of him. He tends to be the one getting attacked by his brother more than doing the attacking, although he's had a few moments of his own. His cry is different too, when he gets mad it is higher pitched and he usually won't cry unless he really needs something. He will still occasionally take a pacifier which is nice sometimes. He seems more mellow sometimes but he is almost always first to be ready for a change. For example, when I put them both in the play pen to play O will usually stay a while but Iz wants out before long. I guess he likes change. And my goodness, he will not hold still for anything! They are both wiggly when I change their diapers but Iz WILL NOT stay on his back. I've been trying to learn to change a diaper upside down and it's very difficult.
O almost always is smiling and I love his laugh so much. I love it because I'll be playing with Iz trying to get him to smile and O will be watching, giggling and smiling and getting all worked up at the same time. I think it is so funny. My parents were get
ting such a kick out of him because he'd just be sitting there eating and all I'd have to do is talk to him or smile and he'd start shaking his hands and laughing because he was so excited. He also is my little tantrum baby and will fuss over silly things. He loves to take toys away from Iz and especially his pacifier, even though he just wants to play with it. He really does throw a good tantrum with arms and legs flailing already. It's probably not good that we find it so funny. O is wiggly during a diaper change too but he is actually worse when he is nursing. He always has to wiggle all over my lap which gets very interesting. Well, that's the twins right now. I will post soon with an update on E and A too. Here is a picture of their latest mischief, I just went to the bathroom and this is what I came back to. Oh the joy! At least Iz looks properly chastened . O just looks like "hey, I'm having a blast!" (Here's a not so angelic picture, Cheryl)

Sorry it's been so long

Wow! I didn't realize how long it had been since I wrote last. A cool thing happened last weekend. We had our stake conference and Bishop H. David Burton , the presiding Bishop of the church, came and spoke to us. We had a really great meeting on Saturday night with just the adults (my Mom was so nice to come and watch the kids) and DE and I sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul" with two other couples for a special number. I was really nervous about it since I was the only soprano and there were two altos but we got a lot of compliments so I guess it was okay.
Anyway, the next morning at the Priesthood session DE sang "Praise to the Man" with some other men which was in an old pre-renaissance church mode and sounded so cool. (Or at least from what I hear). Anyway, at the general session on Sunday Bishop Burton stood up and said that he was so impressed with that number at the morning session that he wanted them to sing it again. Unfortunately, the music had been left at one of the members houses when he went to pick up his family. But we thought it was great that they got asked! I have been so pleased with how much DE has improved with his singing ability since we moved here. He really is the man of music! He can pretty much play anything musical except for the instruments with strings. (And he can make a nice sound out of those too, just not for long :) We love music!

Husband Tag

You SHOULD be jealous!!

What is his name? Eldon Zane Carbine

How long have you been married? 9 years in July

How long did you date? We met in the fall of '98, started dating in October and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple July 31, 1999.

How old is he? 31

Who eats more? Depends on the day and what we're eating.

Who said I love you first? Is it so sad that I don't even remember? I think it was him but I'm pretty sure we told each other around the same time. I was just in denial for a while.

Who is taller? That would most definitely be DE!

Who sings better? Probably still me although he is getting better and better.

Who has a worse temper? Ha ha.. that's funny. If anyone knows DE they know it's definitely me. DE is Mr. Mellow.

Who does the laundry? That would be me. (I'm home all day...duh)

Who does the dishes? Me again. (see above)

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? We switch almost constantly but when we go to bed I'm usually on the right.

Who mows the lawn? Definitely DE. He knows where I grew up, the only thing I know how to do is pull weeds...and more weeds....and more weeds.....

Who drives when you are together? DE, unless he's getting sleepy.

Who cooks dinner? I am the cook (because I have to) DE is our chef (because he likes to and is good at it). DE's been cooking a lot ever since I got pregnant with the twins.

Who pays the bills? Unfortunately me.

Who is more stubborn? Probably me, but there have definitely been times when he's surprised me, he just has to feel strongly about something and then you can't budge him.

Who has more friends? Definitely me, poor guy.

Who has more siblings? He does. He has 4 and I have 3.

Who wears the pants in the family? I'm a modern girl so I usually wear pants unless it's Sunday, and DE always wears pants unless he's wearing shorts. (Okay, only joking. I would say that I make more of the small decisions because DE is pretty indecisive but when it comes to big decisions and taking care of this family it is definitely DE. He's the patriarch of this family, thank goodness.)

And one of my own questions, Who changes the diapers? Both of us! I love that about DE, if he smells it, he changes it.

I can honestly say that not a day goes by that I am not glad and grateful that I managed to snag a man like him. He's got his little quirks just like everyone but when it comes to the important things he is AMAZING! He is supportive of me, he has never said even ONE negative thing to me about me. He uplifts me every day, kisses me goodbye whenever he leaves, tells me he loves me many times a day and still loves to be with me! He is an awesome father, so cute and gentle with our boys. The main reason I want to have a girl is because I'd love to see him with a girl. He is sweet and gentle and also strong and protective. I know I'm the luckiest girl alive.
